Jesus. first post in forever. *waves*. I have been, um, working, reading, knitting furiously, drinking bubble tea, reading, listening to tons of britpop, trying to save cash, not sleeping much, consequently falling asleep at work much to amusement of students and colleagues, developing strange allergies and breaking out in hives, going to see bands alone and actually quite enjoying it, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

legging as pants and cockroaches make lily go crazy

1. You know it's going to be a bad day when a cockroach crawls out of your handbag while you're packing it for the day. Ugh. My apartment is full of them, those smal German ones; I can't seem to get rid of them. The kitchen is old and filled with cracks/nooks and crannies for them to hide in, and no matter how hard I try to keep things clean, they just keep coming out of nowhere. It seems that any old-ish place in Sydney's picturesque (hah) inner western suburbs has free cockroaches included with the rent.
I wish you could choose your vermin! I'd choose a housemouse, for sure.
2. At the bus stop this morning there was a girl wearing shiny black leggings as pants. Did I miss some kind of international memo where it was declared that wearing leggings/tights as pants was acceptable practice???? This is maybe OK if you're on your way to/from the gym or some other physical activity. Not at 9am in the morning with patent leather heels, wheelbarrow-loads of makeup and a tasteful brand-name-emblazoned Armani t-shirt.
3. Today I chose 'Betty' as my name at the supergay coffee shop at Sydney Uni. They ask for my name, to call out when my coffee is ready; each day I pick a different one. Tomorrow I think it will be Perpetua.
4. I got Franz Ferdinand tickets. 6th January, roll on around. Anyone else going to the Sydney show?
5. Would anyone be interested in being interviewed for a possible article/project about bandom, or know anyone who might be? Am thinking of writing one, maybe.

Lovely Americans on my flist, I think I need these shoes in my life, but they are sold out online. If anyone lives/goes near an Urban Outfitters store, could you possibly let me know if they have them in store? apparently they also have these , which might also remedy the lack of owl shoes in my collection. Which of course needs to be remedied, as a matter of extreme urgency.
I'll certainly be needing cute sandals/thongs of some kind...because today it was stinking hot, 30 degrees (celsius, obviously) and I decided that going for a run would be a good idea. Ten minutes in and my head's beetroot red and fit to explode. Anyhow. I survived.
Tomorrow it will be 10 degrees cooler, apparently. Sydney weather is INSANE.
